Doctor Who Season 8 Teaser Poster You Know Who by DogHollywood Doctor Who Season 8 Teaser Poster You Know Who by DogHollywood
A teaser poster for Doctor Who Season 8 and the introduction of the 12th Doctor in the form of enigmatic actor Peter Capaldi.

I just loved the official BBC image revealing the new Doctor in a classic crombie and Doc Martin boots, so much so I wanted to make some posters to celebrate. What better tag line to introduce a new Doctor than "YOU KNOW WHO!"

Hopefully he will bring much needed gravitas to Doctor Who, and maybe take it into darker territory closer or Chris Eccleston's 9th Doctor.

Doctor & Tardis image from the BBC, and all elements rendered in photoshop.

Thank you! I whole heartedly agree. While Smith was likeable, I felt he lacked gravitas of the Doctor and was more like a naughty student than a 2000 year old time lord!

A fantastic poster. I too also hope he brings the series back to a more Eccleston type Doctor Who. We barely got to see much of that before Eccleston left the show. I have high hopes that this new Doctor will improve the series, something I found lacking for the majority of Matt Smiths run.

Same here, it's about time we had a Doctor with some gravitas and not so much tomfoolery! Here's hoping the very charismatic Mr Capaldi won't disappoint!

I am looking forward to seeing what he can do and I totally agree, while Smith had his good points and episodes (mainly the last couple of episodes and last season) it's time for someone new who can help put the series back on track.

Absolutely, I think a return to more serious plots will elevate it to new heights...the days of it being "just a kids show" are long gone...especially given it's huge popularity stateside and world wide now. We'll see in few weeks!

In the mean time, I have another couple to post on here (using the same stock BBC Capaldi image) so keep checking over the next few days. One of them features a popular villain..."DELETE!!!"

Indeed it has been popular here in Australia for decades and the new series staring with Eccleston really brought in a new crowd and generation. I felt that when David Tennant and more importantly Russell T Davis left and Moffit look over the show went down hill. It just felt like a reboot more than a continuation. I felt that Moffit was doing everything he could to try and ignore the past few seasons with Eccleston and Tennant. To be honest I didn't watch the show for years after that until they announced the 50th special and only then did I return to catch up.

I have high hopes that Capaldi will turn the show around and bring it back into a more serious direction rather than the goofiness that was brought in with the departure of Tennant and Davis.

I'll keep my eye out for your posters. :D
